Internal Internships

As part of accelerator program, internal internship program for grade 11 was developed.  Various departments of the school were approached and the following departments agreed to take interns on every Thursday from 2 to 4 pm.

External Internships

It is offered under name of MODINTERN to grade 11 and 12 students in the month of July and August, ranging from 5 days to 4 weeks.  Internships are in the area of retail, software development, medicine, accounts, banking, general management, journalism, marketing, hospitality, education etc.  

  • In 2016 - 75 students interned,   
  • In 2017 - 100 students interned,  
  • In 2018 - 10  students interned and  
  • In 2019 - 150 students interned  

At 35 firms such as: Frost and Sullivan, Apparel Group, ABB Industries, MH Alshaya, ESRI, Prime Medical, SAE, Medeor 24X7, Sobha Group, ABB, German Neuroscience, Professional Vet Clinic, Manipal University, Lighthouse Arabia, Gargash, Landmark Grouo, Hilton, Kibson, Vision Concept Aviation Training Institute, One8one, Emirates Hospitality, ENBD, Seadrill, Nimai, Petrofac and IMG Worlds of Adventure.

  • GEMS Modern Academy and SAE Dubai have been collaborating for the past 4 years in a way to develop the creative thinking to the Modern Academy students by modelling and inspiring them through practical internships and job shadowing, students are able to learn, grow and express their talents and creativity in a media driven environment.”
    We have designed a specific program for the students who applied to SAE for internship based on their areas of interest
    This internship helped them understand the field of media production in a practical manner and to progress in an academic environment yet through a very hands on approach
    The students shadowed the Graphic Design and Marketing departments. The outcome of the internship resulted in producing a promotional ad for one of the programs we offer at SAE and the ad is currently used by the university for marketing purposes

  • My son Adrian Gomes of Grade 12C attended a week's internship at ABB industries which is a multinational technologically innovative company. Everyday was an experience for him, he was given tasks to analyze the company’s annual report and speak about it as if he was the CEO of the company, this improved his interpersonal and analytical skills as well as gave him an insight into the field of business. Along with this he was also given tasks to speak in front of a few senior managers of the company who gave him  positive feedback which benefitted his confidence and speaking skills. He also learnt how to analyze his strengths and weaknesses to improve on his own decision making skills. Above all, he was taken to the actual factory where they taught him about the workings of the different machines and products made there, further expanding his practical knowledge in physics. Overall it was an enriching experience for him.
